West Brom's Olsson out of action for six weeks

West Brom defender Jonas Olsson is facing up to six weeks out of action with an Achilles injury, as manager Roberto Di Matteo confirmed the club's vice-captain could be sidelined until mid December.

It is a big setback for the Baggies as Olsson has been a key figure in their fine start to the campaign in the Premier League.

Di Matteo admitted: ''With Jonas, we're looking at a longer injury - rather than a few weeks. I would like to keep it down to weeks, but it won't be two weeks. It will definitely be around the five or six-week mark.

''It's an injury that can improve dramatically but he's not going to be back within two weeks, that's for sure.''

Leading scorer Peter Odemwingie could be in contention to return in Sunday's home clash against Manchester City after being sidelined for a month with a knee problem.

Odemwingie, on target four times this season, has returned to training but midfielder James Morrison remains doubtful with his knee setback.

Di Matteo said: ''Peter has joined in with us so we will have to see how he reacts.

''With James Morrison, it's touch and go with his knee, but, if it's not Sunday, then hopefully he will be available for the next game. It's assessment on a daily basis with him.''
